Friday April 10th Rained out after heat races! Print E-mail

We got the Midget running pretty good around Manzy's short track Friday night. We started in the back of our heat and we were battling for the top 3 spots for a few laps until I decided to try the top side for the lead and did not have any race track to hold on to. We settled for a 5th place finish in the heat. We were slotted to start 10th for the "A" Main  but the rains came as we were sitting in staging waiting to go out. Saturday morning we woke up to more rain and headed to the track anyway. The track crew was working diligently to get the track in racing order but one cell decided to dump more rain on the track and that was all she wrote. The races are rescheduled for Easter Sunday. Gates open at 11am and races start at 2pm. Half of our crew will not be able to attend.... so we may end up running 2 of the three cars so we don't get overwhelmed. See you at the races.

A sad day is coming oh so fast. We almost have all of the cars prepared and ready to go. As of Monday night we have about another 6-10 hours of work left to do. There are few nerves running as we get ready for Manzy's last dance. We are going out in the midget of Friday night to pretty much get the car dialed in for Saturday in a race that was added for Haley's laps for Leukemia. Any time that there are charitable things happening we try to get involved. We are hoping for a fun and pleasant evening at the track.

Saturday is going to be a really sad one as it is the last day that the historical track will be open. I can't believe after 58 years Manzanita is closing. We are not expectiong too much as far as results.... just going out to have fun one last time..

Ken will not be doing double duty at the last race at the world famous Manzanita Speedway. A triple dip of the Gordon Seros powered Sawyer  number 10 micro, the 00 Fontana powered Ellis midget and the 00 Chevy powered Buckley ASCS 360 sprint car. We are hoping that the final night of racing at Manzy will prove to be one of the most fun times we have ever had at the race track. Come on out and cheer us on as we will be going full tilt in every race. Hopefully the night goes off without a hitch. See you on the 11th.

O God, You gave us a son, and in Your wisdom and love have called him home to You before us. Please listen to our humble prayer: pardon his sins and faults, and grant that we may be reunited safely in Your Presence. Through Your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ, we beg this of You. Amen.
